Crimes are on the rise
There has been an inflow of outsiders from Nigeria and Russia into Goa for the last few year. Most of the russians have settle in and around Morjim has been renamed as mini Russia. Most of these folks are staying illegally and are also acquiring properties illegally. Recently there has been an increase in the number of crimes by Nigerians and in the last week Goa police has arrested four Nigerians. Felix Otedo was arrested for possession of drugs worth more than 25 lacs. Obi Okarao was arrested on rape charges and Michael Oakakar for residing illegally in the state.
Police have started cracking down against Nigerians who are involved in criminal activities.Police arrest two months back was for Russian nefarious activities. In only a few Russian police to bar behind including one for murder case at Arambol.
In Goa in last four months all together 76 foreign nationals have been booked for indulging in various crimes. Of the 50 percent staying in the country without proper documentation. Air Turbulance on Emirates Flight in Goa - 23 injured
